Withdrawal
Withdrawing from Rubin moves funds from your trading subaccount back to your main account, and then to an address on the destination chain.
Process Flow
Connect wallet
Connect your wallet and open the Withdraw view in the Rubin interface.
Enter destination and amount
Specify the destination chain, destination address, and the amount to withdraw.
Sign the withdrawal
Sign the withdrawal transaction. Funds are moved from your trading subaccount to your main account, and the withdrawal is registered on Rubin. A withdrawal fee is deducted from your Rubin account at this step.
Optional timelock for large withdrawals
Withdrawals above a configured threshold are held for a fixed delay before signing begins. This is a security buffer for the largest transfers.
Validators sign
Rubin validators sign the withdrawal. A supermajority (~2/3) is required before the withdrawal is considered ready to leave the chain.
Relay to destination chain
Once enough signatures are collected, the withdrawal is relayed to the destination chain and funds arrive at the destination address.
Limits and refunds
- Daily limits. Each chain and asset has a per-day withdrawal cap. Requests that would exceed the cap are rejected; submit again after the limit resets.
- Automatic refunds. If a withdrawal fails to collect enough signatures in time, fails to be relayed, or is not confirmed on the destination chain, the funds are returned to your main account automatically.
Best practices
- Move funds from your trading subaccount to your main account before initiating a withdrawal — the interface does this for you, but verify the available balance.
- Double-check the destination address and chain before signing. Withdrawals to incorrect addresses cannot be reversed once relayed.
- Send a small test withdrawal the first time you use a new destination address.
